Hands Across Prospect Park Event Info
Last year 1600+ of our beautiful Canada Geese were slaughtered in the name of air traffic safety.
What people didn't know is that the FDA was working together with the USDA's wildlife hit-man organization called "Wildlife Services" which aims to destroy thousands of wild animals each and every year -- regardless of their proximity to the airport.
Developers in Staten Island, Queens and Long Island have been frustrated by the protection that the Migratory Bird Act gave to these geese. Over the past two years those protections have been diluted to such an extreme as to reneg on any protection whatsoever.
